Well my dear sister-in-law Julie is in charge of organising our next holiday. This time it is a family holiday to the Gold Coast! Part of Chris' (Pete's younger brother - the baby of the family) 40th birthday celebrations.
We are going in August for a week, so the 2 kids and one adult at least will have a week off school. And if Julie can persuade others another 1 off school and 1 off Uni.!
At this stage it is Julie and Dave, Pete and I, Chris, his wife Jacqui, Stephanie (who will have just turned 13) and Matthew (10). So that equates to at least 5 'kids' really! And with luck one of Pete's older sister's and family may be able to be persuaded to join us too. No chance of getting his Mum on a plane, more's the pity.
My experience of the Gold Coast has been very limited. One day back in 1991 when Shirley and I were on a Mystery Weekend Trip and ended up in Brisbane, and did a day trip. Actually that was where I purchased a lovely diamond and rubelitte tourmaline which became my engagement ring a year later! And then on our honeymoon in 1993 we drove past and did not stop!
Keep dreaming of another cruise but travel funds are just about non existant this year unfortunately. Thats life.
